Lux 2 Lighting Tower

High Power Solar Light Tower Built to Run a Full Shift, Every Day, Without Intervention

The Lux 2 is a compact, solar-powered industrial lighting tower built for sites that need reliable, high-output lighting without generator fuel or manual operation. Two 80W high-efficiency LED lights deliver consistent illumination across a 14-hour duty cycle, engineered to run a full shift every day through winter without intervention. The astronomical clock controller turns the lights on at dusk and off at dawn automatically, with auto, on and off modes selectable manually or via Bluetooth smart controller.

At 1,800kg on a concrete base, it’s stable enough for exposed and off-road conditions. The hydraulic folding solar array and guarded 6m telescopic mast enable single-person setup. Forklift pockets built into the base mean repositioning takes a 2.5T forklift and a few minutes.

Why Choose This Product

  • Runs Itself, Dawn to Dusk, Every Day

Runs Itself, Dawn to Dusk, Every Day

The astronomical clock controller turns the Lux 2 on at dusk and off at dawn without manual input. Set it up, walk away and it operates on schedule. Lighting and solar settings are adjustable manually or via the Bluetooth-enabled smart controller if conditions or requirements change.
  • 45 Hours on Battery, Zero Sunlight

45 Hours on Battery, Zero Sunlight

Forty-five hours of battery runtime with no solar input means the Lux 2 keeps running through extended overcast periods without intervention. Designed to operate 14 hours a day every day including winter, 100% uptime usability.
  • Single-Person Setup

    Single-Person Setup

The hydraulic folding solar array and guarded telescopic mast are engineered for safe, single-person deployment in challenging environments. No crew required to get it operational.
  • Forklift Moveable

    Forklift Moveable

The concrete base includes forklift pockets for repositioning by any 2.5T forklift. Compact enough to store efficiently between deployments, quick to redeploy as site requirements change.

Built for Industrial Sites That Run After Dark

  • Mining

Overnight operations, shift work and remote drill sites requiring consistent, unattended lighting without generator logistics.
  • Civil Construction

Active work zones and access points on civil projects running night shifts or extended hours.
  • Agriculture

Machinery maintenance, storage facilities and work areas on large properties where mains lighting isn't available.
  • Defence & Government

Remote installations and forward deployments requiring self-sufficient, zero-emission lighting that operates without daily intervention.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Lux 2 solar lighting tower and how does it work?
The Lux 2 is a compact, solar-powered lighting tower with two 80W high-efficiency LED lights on a 6m telescopic mast. An astronomical clock controller switches the lights on at dusk and off at dawn automatically, with manual or Bluetooth override, so it runs unattended with no generator or mains power required.
How long does the Lux 2 run on battery power alone?
The Lux 2 delivers up to 45 hours of runtime on battery only, with no solar input needed. With its 7.2kWh LiFePO4 battery and 14-hour daily design duty, it's built to operate every day through winter, including extended overcast periods, without intervention.
How do I get a quote for the Lux 2?
Request a quote through the MTGA website or contact the team directly. MTGA can also discuss customisation options, such as extended battery redundancy or a different mast height, to suit your site.
Can one person set up and move the Lux 2 lighting tower?
Yes. The hydraulic folding solar array and guarded telescopic mast are engineered for single-person deployment, with no crew required. Forklift pockets built into the concrete base also mean the unit can be repositioned with a 2.5T forklift in a few minutes.
How many lumens does the Lux 2 produce, and how does it compare to the Lux 4?
The Lux 2's two 80W LED lights produce 29,400 lumens, powered by a 2 x 415W solar array. The Lux 4 doubles the solar and battery capacity (4 x 415W panels, 14.4kWh battery) for larger open areas, while both models share the same 45-hour battery runtime, concrete base and single-person setup.
What industries and site conditions is the Lux 2 built for?
The Lux 2 is designed for overnight mining operations and remote drill sites, civil construction night shifts, agricultural machinery and storage areas without mains lighting, and defence and government installations needing self-sufficient, zero-emission lighting. It's rated to withstand 100km/h wind while deployed and 145km/h stowed.
Can the Lux 2 be customised for different site requirements?
Yes. MTGA can customise the Lux 2 with extended battery redundancy, a different mast height, or additional lighting configurations. The Lux 2 is designed and built in Perth, Western Australia.
