HV Boom Gate Skid

Self-Contained Heavy Vehicle Boom Gate Skid for Large-Scale Access Control

The MTGA HV Boom Gate Skid is a solar-powered, self-contained access control unit built to manage heavy vehicle traffic on mine sites and large commercial operations. Four 120Ah deep-cycle AGM batteries and a rotating 415W solar panel deliver six days of battery redundancy off-grid, enough to keep the gate operational for extended periods without attention. At approximately 1,000 kg with a ruggedised heavy-duty skid, it handles off-road conditions and repositions when site access requirements change.

Move it into position, turn it on, and you’re controlling traffic. Trigger it remotely by vehicle-mounted switch, key card or handheld fob. RFID automates access for registered vehicles, ultrasonic sensors handle detection, and the IP66-rated power cabinet and waterproof battery box keep the electronics protected from dust and moisture.

Why Choose This Product

  • Six Days Battery Redundancy, Off Grid

Six Days Battery Redundancy, Off Grid

Four 120Ah deep-cycle AGM batteries and a rotating 415W solar panel deliver six days of battery redundancy. On remote mine sites where someone isn't on hand to troubleshoot, that margin matters.
  • Three Trigger Options

    Three Trigger Options

Access can be triggered by vehicle-mounted switch, key card or handheld fob, whichever suits your site's workflow. RFID automates access for registered vehicles, and the connected in-vehicle control system logs per-vehicle entry and exit for a full access record.
  • Rotating Solar Panel

    Rotating Solar Panel

The 415W solar panel rotates to track available light, particularly useful on sites where the skid can't always be oriented optimally. More consistent power input means more consistent battery charge across longer deployments.
  • No Trenching, No Cabling, No Civil Works

No Trenching, No Cabling, No Civil Works

Fully self-contained with onboard solar and battery power. No connection to mains, no ground penetration, no site disturbance. Position it, power it on and it's operational.

Built for Sites Running Heavy Traffic

  • Mining

Main site entries, haul road access points and restricted zones on large mine sites where heavy vehicles and light vehicles need to be managed through the same access point.
  • Civil Construction

Major civil infrastructure projects requiring controlled access for heavy plant and personnel without permanent gate infrastructure.
  • Defence & Government

Secure perimeters and controlled access points at remote installations requiring self-sufficient, portable access control for heavy vehicle traffic.

10m or 12m, Which Boom Length Do You Need?

The 10m boom suits most heavy vehicle access points and dual-lane site entries. The 12m is the right call for wider haul roads, multi-lane entries or access points where extra clearance is needed for wide loads. If you’re not sure which suits your setup, our team can advise based on your site layout.

Only Need Access Control for Light Vehicles?

The LV Boom Gate Skid handles light vehicle and personnel access with a 6m or 8m boom, four days of battery redundancy and the same self-contained solar-powered setup, in a more compact 900kg footprint suited to tighter access points and smaller sites.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MTGA Heavy Vehicle Boom Gate Skid used for?
The MTGA Heavy Vehicle Boom Gate Skid is used for self-contained access control on mine sites, major civil construction projects and remote defence and government installations. It manages heavy and light vehicles through the same access point, without the need for permanent trenching or cabling.
Does the HV Boom Gate Skid require trenching or cabling?
No. The HV Boom Gate Skid is designed as a self-contained access control solution with zero trenching or cabling required. This makes it suitable for temporary, remote or hard-to-access locations where fixed access control infrastructure may not be practical.
Can the Heavy Vehicle Boom Gate Skid support RFID access control?
Yes. The HV Boom Gate Skid can support RFID-triggered vehicle access, allowing operators to manage authorised vehicle movements and improve site access control without relying on manual gate operation.
Is the HV Boom Gate Skid suitable for remote or off-road sites?
Yes. The HV Boom Gate Skid is engineered and ruggedised for off-road use and is made in Australia for Australian conditions. With six days of battery redundancy, it keeps operating on remote sites where no one is on hand to troubleshoot.
How is the HV Boom Gate Skid powered?
The HV Boom Gate Skid uses a plug-and-play DC power system, with four 120Ah deep-cycle AGM batteries charged by a rotating 415W solar panel. This gives it six days of battery redundancy, supporting reliable operation in remote or off-grid environments.
