Communication Solutions

Solar-powered communications trailers, base stations, communication huts and monitoring technology for remote and off-grid operations

MTGA’s communication solutions range covers everything from lightweight mobile communications trailers for rapid deployment through to large-scale fixed site communications infrastructure built for permanent installation. With over 500 trailers and skids delivered to industry, every product in the range is engineered for harsh Australian conditions, solar-powered, ruggedised and built to operate autonomously in remote environments without grid power or ongoing intervention.

Whether your operation needs a single trailer deployed to a new work area, a base station to anchor a remote site network, or a hardened shelter to house critical communications infrastructure in a cyclone zone, the MTGA range has a solution built for it.

Our Communication Range

Filter by:

110 Series Trailers & Skids

MTGA's most compact and mobile communications unit. Built for smaller sites, exploration areas and rapid deployments where a lightweight footprint matters. One-person setup, five days battery redundancy, available as trailer or skid.

200 Series Trailers & Skids

A step up in power with dual device support. Three solar panels deliver 100–150W and the unit runs two APs or devices simultaneously, for smaller operations with more demanding communications requirements.

250 Series Trailers & Skids

Four solar panels, seven days battery redundancy and support for multiple devices. Built for operations running complex communications across an entire site without generator backup.

300 Series Trailers & Skids

The most powerful towable trailer in the Mobile Series. Six solar panels deliver up to 350W continuous power, the highest output available in a unit still towable by a light vehicle under 2000 kg.

500 Series Semi-Portable Base Station

Cell tower-level communications without the permanent infrastructure. Eighteen solar panels, 400–600W continuous power, air-conditioned racks and a 17m telescopic lattice mast, up and running in under 10 minutes. Suits operations requiring whole-sector or whole-cell coverage with the flexibility to relocate.

1000 Series Semi-Portable Base Station

A significant step up in power for operations with more demanding requirements. Supporting over 1600W continuous power from 12–18 solar panels, with a double-walled air-conditioned insulated shelter and masts from 17 to 50 metres. Built for single-sector or cell-level LTE at the highest power demands.

2000 Series Semi-Portable Base Station

MTGA's flagship base station. Fully custom designed and built for the most complex, highest-power communications requirements, multi-sector LTE, microwave backhaul, 4000W+ continuous power and masts up to 50 metres and beyond. When nothing else is enough, this is the answer.

Communication Huts

Weatherproof, climate-controlled communication huts for fixed remote site installations. Purpose-built to house sensitive communications equipment in the harshest Australian operating environments.

Custom Solar Powered Communications Skids

Every MTGA product starts as a custom build. Our in-house engineering team designs and manufactures bespoke comms infrastructure for operations with power, environmental or communications requirements that fall outside what a standard product can deliver, built at our Perth workshop and backed by over 15 years of field-proven experience across mining, civil construction, agriculture and defence. If your site has a specification to meet, we'll design to it. If you're not sure what you need, we'll work through it with you.

HUM - Health & Utilisation Monitor

Compact and lightweight portable communications unit for rapid deployment in space-constrained environments. Designed where a full trailer isn't practical but reliable off-grid connectivity is still essential.

Omni Series Communications Trailers

Pre-configured and ready to deploy out of the box. LTE, 4G, 5G, WiFi and two-way channels supported from the moment it arrives. Available in three sizes, Omni 2, 3 or 4, based on power requirements. Available to purchase or hire.

Real-Time Visibility Across Your Entire Fleet

The HUM (Health and Utilisation Monitor) is a companion device that works alongside MTGA communications equipment to give you real-time visibility across your entire fleet. GPS location, battery and solar health, trailer orientation and network dead spot mapping, all feeding into a single web-based dashboard. If you’re running multiple trailers across a large site, the HUM turns fleet management from a manual exercise into an automated one.

Built for Your Operation, Engineered Around Your Needs

No two projects are the same. Whether you need an off-the-shelf solution or something custom-designed for your requirements, our team is ready to help you find the right fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a communications trailer?
A communications trailer is a self-contained, mobile unit that houses the hardware required to establish a wireless communications network at a remote site, typically including radios, antennas, solar panels and battery storage. MTGA communications trailers are solar-powered and built to operate autonomously without grid power or ongoing manual intervention.
What is the difference between a mobile communications trailer and a fixed base station?
Mobile communications trailers are towable and designed to be repositioned as site requirements change, ideal for exploration, construction phases or operations where network coverage needs to move with the work. Fixed base stations are larger, heavier units designed for permanent or long-term installation as the anchor point of a site communications network.
Are MTGA communications trailers solar powered?
Yes. All MTGA communications trailers and skids are solar-powered with lithium battery backup, engineered to operate off-grid without a generator or grid connection. Battery redundancy across the range provides between three and five days of backup power depending on the model.
Can MTGA communications trailers be hired?
Yes. Selected products across the communications range are available to hire as well as purchase. The MTGA Hire range is suited to short-term projects, urgent deployments or operations that need to trial a solution before committing to purchase. Contact our team for current hire availability.
What size communications trailer do I need?
The right trailer depends on the number of devices you need to power, the size of the coverage area, how often the unit needs to move and the environmental conditions on your site. The 110 and 200 Series suit lighter deployments, the 250 and 300 Series handle larger payloads, and the Omni Series provides maximum capacity in a towable format. Our team can work through your requirements and recommend the right model.
Do MTGA communications trailers work in extreme weather conditions?
Yes. All products in the MTGA range are engineered ruggedised for Australian conditions including high heat, dust and UV exposure. The Communication Hut is rated to Region D wind loading, the most extreme classification under the Australian wind loading standard, covering cyclone-prone areas including the Pilbara and Kimberley.
What communications equipment can be installed on an MTGA trailer?
MTGA trailers are vendor-agnostic and can be configured to house most leading communications hardware including LTE and WiFi radios, antennas and associated networking equipment. Custom configurations are available; talk to our team about your specific hardware requirements.
